“Talking was my life, and unfortunately it became my fate as well. I started to talk when I was only 6 months old, and couldn’t quite keep silent ever after. Because of that, I was a very popular kid, although sometimes my big mouth got me into some trouble as well. Nevertheless, I always talked my way out of dire straits. That is how I got my nickname, since according to my friends I would even be able to downtalk the devil itself if I had to. Sad enough, but I did not now the Hungarian saying: never talk while you are eating. I guess I would still be moderating my own talk-show, weren’t it for that lethal fishbone which got stuck in my throat on that Cancun night. That supper was to become my last one, and you can guess why: I was talking and talking…”
Las Catrinas, these wonderful clay statuettes, are a typical element of Latin-American culture. The artisans form every single clay doll in detail, burn them and finally bring the skeletons but to life by acryl-painting them colorfully. Every statue is a piece of art, guaranteed to bring new color and a touch of real Mexican atmosphere to your home.
